Who we are

Elm & Butter is a cake studio rooted in simplicity, nature, and honest ingredients. We believe that cake should taste as beautiful as it looks—never overly sweet, always deeply satisfying, and crafted with care.

Founded with the idea that celebration deserves intentionality, we create cakes that blend subtle flavor profiles with timeless design. Each cake is a collaboration: between thoughtful ingredients, meaningful occasions, and our clients’ unique vision.

We don’t just bake cakes—we help mark moments. Whether it’s a wedding, a birthday, or a quiet celebration of life, we’re honored to be part of your story.

At Elm & Butter, less is more. We let ingredients shine, embracing restraint and elegance in every detail.

– A love for slow, intentional living

We’re a small studio with a big heart, and we can’t wait to bake something special for you.

Our Story

Elm & Butter began with a quiet love for simple things: the smell of browned butter, the beauty of fresh herbs, the joy of gathering. What started as baking for friends and family slowly grew into something more—a way to connect, to celebrate, and to bring a little more meaning into the everyday.

In a world of excess, we chose simplicity. We found beauty in restraint, flavor in balance, and purpose in creating cakes that tell a story. Every Elm & Butter cake is made with intention—guided by nature, shaped by emotion, and crafted by hand..

We believe the process should be as sweet as the final bite. From our first conversation to the last slice, we focus on clarity, care, and communication.

Honoring Our Roots

It started with my mother’s hands—gentle, flour-dusted, always moving with purpose.

In our home, baking was more than a recipe—it was a rhythm. A language of care, passed through our family.

From a very young baking was prominent, you could almost taste the difference when made with love. With my mother’s passion and creative vibrance, with connectiveness. My mother would have us help with small steps in the baking process as she was feeling urged to bond. These baked goods she would share with the community and take to share at work for whimsical kindness. Her patience with our participation was gentle and nurturing. Making baked goods was frequent, as our parents worked hard to grow and evolve out of poverty. With the financial stresses of the economic crisis and market crash, home-baked goods always had a more comforting edge as we celebrated holidays and birthdays with something crafted. hand to hand in a small, warm kitchen. As a child, I was drawn to it not just by the scent of cinnamon or the comfort of a rising loaf, but by the way my mother used it to connect to us, to her community, to something softer in a world that was often hard.

Amid the noise of long workdays and the quiet weight of financial strain, our celebrations were small but sacred. A tray of cookies, a handmade birthday cake, pies for the party, dinner rolls, risen with patience. In those moments, baking was our offering—something crafted from almost nothing, rich in spirit and tenderness.

What began as a way to bond became a lifelong craft. With over 15 years of experience and a background in culinary training, I now bring that same intentionality into every bake. A nod to the past, a step toward the future. This is bread that tells a story. Cookies that carry memory. A bakery rooted in resilience, artistry, and the quiet power of sharing something made with love.

Still rising, still giving. Always from home.
